Two members of the Police Rangers have taken the plunge to become Police Cadets. The Western Australian Police Cadet Traineeship Program is an exciting innovation offering previously underage applicants the opportunity of an early pathway into the WA Police.
Whereas interested people were previously required to wait until turning 18 years of age to become a police officer, the Cadet Traineeship Program will offer successful applicants the opportunity to join the Wa Police from the age of 17 years.
Nathan Papas from Bunbury and Fletcher Royans of Rockingham have chosen this option and are on their way to a career in law enforcement.
Nathan joined the PCYC Bunbury Police Rangers in 2002 and in 2006 became an instructor. He is excited to be joining the ranks of the WA Police and began his initial training at the Joondalup Police Academy on 25 February 2008.
Fletcher started at the PCYC Rockingham Police Rangers in 2006 and has attained the rank of Police Ranger Sergeant and from a young age wanted to join the WA Police. Fletcher has been a role model for the Rockingham Police Rangers with his professionalism and leadership skills.
