Do you want to do the stuff you usually only see on television, like flying in civil and military aircraft, getting the chance to qualify as an aircraft pilot, parachuting, doing firearms safety training under military supervision, and survival training in the bush?
Then join the Australian Air Force Cadets if you are fit, aged between 13 - 17 years (you can stay until you are 20), and have parental permission.
Male and female Cadets learn lots about aeronautics, navigation, meteorology and radio communications, drill and ceremonial activities, survival and first aid.
You also get to go bush as well, wearing camouflage uniform, carrying webbing, pack and a military radio; enjoying patrolling, camping and learning survival skills.
In addition, you'll get at least seven days continuous training each year at RAAF Base Pearce, and this is paid for by our parent body, the Royal Australian Air Force, without obligation.
In Air Force Cadets, the sky is not your limit – it's your home.
If you want, we can teach you how to parachute out of a perfectly good aeroplane while flying more than a kilometre above the earth.
Or you can learn to fly a real aeroplane on your own at least a year before you are allowed to have a car licence. True!
And each year, the International Cadet Exchange sees Air Force Cadets jetting off on exchange programs to places like Canada, Singapore or the United States.
As an Air Force Cadet, you'll become a leader and a team member, trained to be confident, self sufficient, tenacious and willing to have a go.
You'll develop skills and attitudes that will make it easier to get a job and build a career, no matter what you decide to do with your life.
